Spinning Class

Spinning Class

Learn to Spin
Beginning Spinners

Students will receive basic spinning techniques and instruction on the drop spindle as well as various Kromski spinning wheels. Kromski wheels are provided for use during classes. Students are encouraged to use the wheels for practice during the duration of the class in the store, during normal store hours.

Tuition: $80.00 for four classes.
Included: Drop spindle, fibers and printed material.
Class Size: Five.

"I Have a Wheel, Now What?"DSC
Beginning to Intermediate Spinners

Students are encouraged to bring their own wheels, but are welcome to use in-store floor models. Kaye will cover choosing the right whorl, plying, treadling speeds for what type of yarn, maintenance on your wheel, a many more topics! Students will receive instruction on various single and double treadle spinning wheels. Kromski wheels are provided for use during classes. Students are encouraged to use the wheels for practice during the duration of the classes in the store, during normal store hours.

Tuition: $40.00 for four classes.
Included: Variety of fibers and printed material.
Class Size: Six.


Knitting Classes

Learn to Knit
New Knitters

Students will receive instruction on the knitting basics: Cast on, cast off, knitting, purling, increase and decrease. Each student can choose from a variety of beginning projects and yarn: a washcloth, scarf, mitts, or slippers.

Included: printed material. Class free when supplies purchased at Your Daily Fiber. Class $35, when using own supplies 
Class Size: Six.

"I can knit a square, what else can I make?"
Beginning to Intermediate Knitting

Students will learn simple techniques based on the square and rectangle to begin designing their own garment. Each student will knit and design a garment of their own design and choosing, while learning a variety of computer knitting software.

Included: printed material. Class free when supplies purchased at Your Daily Fiber. Class $35, when using own supplies. 

 

 

Class size: Six 

Socks: circular or dpn's, you choose.
Beginning Knitters

Students will receive basic sock knitting techniques and instruction on BOTH knitting socks on double pointed and circular needles.

Included: printed material. Class free when supplies purchased at Your Daily Fiber. Class $35, when using own supplies. 

Class Size: Eight.

 
 

Felting Class-ONE DAY WORKSHOPFelting Class

Learning to Felt - Nuno Style
First time felters

Students will receive instruction and make a felted nuno silk scarf using wet felt and needle felting techniques.

Nuno felting is a Japanese fabric felting technique. It melds loose fiber, usually wool, into a sheer fabric such as silk gauze. This creates a lightweight felt that can totally cover the background fabric or be used as a single decorative design.

Instructor: Linda Davis
Tuition: $60.00 a session.
Included:  Choice of black or white silk fabric, alpaca and mohair fiber.
Class Size: Four.

 

* If Linda is snowbound on a specific date, the class will be held the following Sunday. If a student is unable to make the snow date, he/she can reschedule on any other date.
