ONLINE Family Owned Yarn Shop

Livermore Colorado

If you are wondering what yarn has to do with mountain lions, the answer to most people would be nothing. For Darrell and Elaine Sipes and “Your Daily Fiber,” the answer would be an awful lot.

The Sipes’ have dreamed and discussed opening a fiber related store in Fort Collins for years. In 2009 they decided to change the dream to a plan. Discussions about the plan were frequent around the Sipes household. One such discussion took place in the family truck, with the twin grandchildren in the back seat. The talk was about the economy, chances of success, and the scariest thing of all, signing names to a lease.

Six-year-old Alex was listening to the conversation. Always a concerned child, he asked, “Grandma, what are you scared of?” Elaine and Darrell explained what it meant to commit financially to the store and to what it actually came down to, signing their names to the lease.

Alex gave it some thought, before he replied, “Grandma, you shouldn’t be afraid to write your name, you should be afraid of a mountain lion.”

The decision was made from the wisdom of a 6-year-old.
Don’t be afraid to live your the dream…
Don’t be afraid to sign your name…

Don't be afraid to start that project...

But you should be afraid of a mountain lion.

Success! Message received.
