Data, Gigs and Wrestling
I need to get a head start on my story. I am writing at the store Saturday afternoon because I have no available data at home. I have no idea what that means. I just know that when I try to access the internet at home, the arrow in the upper left-hand corner of my computer screen just spins and spins. It was Elaine that told me we are out of gigs.
I have written before about our lack of data. At that time Elaine told me we needed to buy a package with more gigs of data.We obviously didn’t bump it enough. Now that the twins have smart phones again, we are running out of data. Elaine thinks they are watching too many downloads. Elaine explained to me what downloads are and I think they are watching too many also. I would ask them to stop watching them, but someone needs to tell me what they are.
Elaine tried to explain download and data to me. I asked how long a gig of data lasts. She told me that it varies and no one could answer that. That confused me even more.
Elaine told me, Downloads are things that I (and the kids) look at on the internet. That made sense to me. I asked , “OH, OK, so how long can we look at things on the internet.” Elaine said, ” Well, that depends, not everything you look at on the internet.” ”WHAT? Now I”m really confused.”
Then Elaine tried to explain her comments. Downloads are photos and videos that you click on to look at.” ”Oh, OK, its the stuff you don’t need to read!” And then Elaine said, “No, that’s not right, downloads can also be just printed words.”
Then Elaine confused me even more by telling me, “We get more data between 2:00 AM and 8:00 AM every day.” I said, “Let me get this straight. If I write Monner’s Mumblings after 2:00 AM that little arrow won’t be spinning.” ”As long as you are done by 8:00 AM.” Does this sound like an Abbott and Costello bit?
I now understand what has been happening. With The Fair Usage Act, service providers can sell things like gigs that disappear at a rate that you cannot see or understand. The service providers use words like gigs that have no definitions. Abbott and Costello?
Anyway, every month since the twins received smart phones, things called gigs somehow disappear at a rapid pace. We have UNLIMITED gigs at YOUR DAILY FIBER, but at home we have LIMITED gigs and obviously not enough gigs.
What I do understand is, I cannot get Monners Mumblings on the internet without gigs.

Boy Twin’s wrestling matches have started. At this point in the season, he is doing extremely well.
I’m not sure how devoted to the sport. Boy Twin wrestles in the 114 lb. weight class. His natural weight is around 110-112 lbs. He usually has no problem staying under the 114 lb. limit.
Boy Twin’s favorite snack is Hotsy’s Corn Chips. (Hotsy’s is not the actual name. Monner does not endorse products, here.) Hotsy’s are so incredibly spicy hot, they are painful to eat. Personally, I don’t even like to hold the bag.
Boy Twin picked up a bag of Hotsy’s and a quart of chocolate milk at the grocery store. He ate 3/4 of the bag on the way home. When Boy Twin arrived home, he decided to weigh himself. Boy Twin weighed 113.5 lbs. I suggested,”You might want to stop eating the Hotsy’s!” Bot Twin responded, “I like Hotsy’s more than I like wrestling!”
He is kept his weight under 114 and won his matches at that weight. He had to wrestle a kid that was a weight class bigger than 114 lbs. He lost that match. After the match he told me, ”That kid smelled so bad I quit.”
Our crazy lives!
