End of the year

2022 is gone and for me not a minute too soon. So far, 2023 is not going to be any better. Christmas 2021, I was in the hospital. This past Christmas I was home. Oh, there was some outpatient surgery a couple of days before Christmas. We got through that and had a lovely Christmas; the 25th falling on the weekend made it especially good. Everyone was home the entire weekend.

Christmas would have been perfect with a bit of help from the Nile. Ivy ordered my Christmas present for Elaine from the Nile on December 9th. The gift arrived on December 30th, which coincidentally is Elaine's birthday. I did a bit of rearranging my gifts and life worked out.

I spent the week before Christmas dreaming of a white Christmas. It didn't help. And singing that song doesn't help either. That song might have worked if the lyrics were"I'm dreaming of a windy Christmas".

As I said, Elaine's birthday is December 30th, New Years' Eve Eve. If we are to celebrate the passing of the year and welcome the New Year, we celebrate on the 30th. We made plans to go to dinner. On her birthday Elaine came down with a cough. I want to give her credit for passing the cough to me, but I had the cough first. There is a chance. albeit slight the cough was lying dormant in Elaine's body before passing it to me.

Needless to say, our celebration has been postponed. We decided to spend New's Years Eve at home. Elaine and I shared a couple of shots of NyQuil and Elaine was in bed at 6:30, I made it until 7:00.

So far 2023 is off to a bad start. I woke up this morning to snow. I'm sure no one was dreaming of a white New Year's Day. On second thought maybe there is a skier out there, who wants snow.

I'm keeping it short today. I'm going to hit the NyQuil bottle and go back to bed. I need to get a nap in before Elaine starts asking questions about football.

God Bless, and buy yarn, I will have stories next week.

Our crazy lives!
