Monner
My mother didn't name me Monner. I don't think she ever even heard or said the word. If one would look up the word Monner in the Merriam- Webster dictionary you will not find a definition or a listing.
So where did it come from? If you have known me since my childhood, you probably use my other name. If you met me after 2002 there is a good chance you will call me Monner. Some "friends" use both names.
The name, Monner comes from my twins. That sounds a little selfish claiming them as my own. Boy Twin and Girl Twin are our (Elaine's and mine) biological grandchilden The twins were the first to call me Monner.
When the twins were learning to speak and walk I would chase them around the house and growl at them. They thought I was a monster. Monster became Monner. My name became Monner. Twenty-some years later I am still Monner.
As fate and circumstances take place Elaine and I eventually adopted the twins. Monner changed from grandfather to father. Throughout their school years, the twins ' teachers, friends, and friend's parents called me Monner.
The twins turned twenty-two years old this past week. Boy Twin said something to me that made me feel the definition of my name is changing.
As most of you know I have recent back surgery. (I know, I'm sick of talking about it also.) Boy Twin and I were discussing my surgery when he said, 'You had better not be lifting ANYTHING, and I mean it!
I think I might need to relinquish my Monner title.
PS Girl Twin celebrated her birthday by driving to Las Vegas with four other girls. Boy Twin will be at our house today to boss me around.
God Bless, Love ya, Yarn!
Our crazy lives!
Monner, the first
